Nio Bluetooth guardian can help protect your laptop or netbook

By: (more) | Laptops News | Posted: Nov 27, 2009 11:43 am

One of the worst things that can happen to your notebook or netbook is it being stolen. Not only are you out the notebook or netbook, but any important data on the machine will be lost and available to the thief as well.

TenBu Technologies has announced a new device called the nio that can help prevent the theft of your notebook or netbook and works for mobile phones too. The device is a Bluetooth tag combined with software that sits on the computer or smartphone.

You can enter a specified area that the notebook can travel in and if someone picks it up and takes it outside that area the tag will alarm and the notebook will alarm as well. This will hopefully prevent the thief from making off with your computer and give you the chance to pummel the thief into the ground if he is smaller than you or scream like a little girl if the thief is larger. The nio device is available now for $69.99.
