The smartphone is a big category in the mobile phone market today and is one of the few segments of the market that is still growing despite the poor economy. We can thank the iPhone for the glut of touchscreen devices on the market and they keep coming. ZiiLabs has unveiled a cool looking new platform for smartphones called Trinity.

The Trinity platform is designed for smartphones that are running Android or Plaszma operating systems. The platform has accelerated 3D graphics and supports video up to 1080p. The Trinity has a 3.1-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 supporting capacitive multi touch.

Other features include X-Fi audio, mini HDMI port, and microSD card support for extra storage. The Trinity has 256MB of onboard memory, WiFi, Bluetooth, and hardware GPS. Power for the handset is from an 1130mAh lithium polymer battery.
