By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Dec 9, 2009 5:56 pm

If you had your heart set on a Nook or Sony eReader for Christmas but they sold out and you just don't want a Kindle, a new option has been announced. A company called Aluratek has unveiled its Libre eBook reader Pro at a bargain price.

The eReader has a retail price of only $179 and promises 24 hours of continuous use per charge. The reader achieves that run time thanks to exclusive reflective LCD technology. The B&W screen has no backlight to save power.

The device ships with a 2GB SD card that is packed with 100 books. It can read up to 32GB SDHC cards. The device supports Adobe DRM, ePUB, PDF, FB2, TXT, Mobi, PRC and RTF formats.
