NEC debuts new projectors for big rooms

By: (more) | Displays & Projectors News | Posted: Dec 9, 2009 5:58 pm

I am a big fan of projectors for many uses. I like to watch my favorite movies on a big screen and I like to play video games on a big screen too. And by big I don't mean 50-inches; I want 100-inches or more. NEC has announced a couple new projectors aimed at businesses and educations that would be used at home too, if your room is big enough.

The projectors are the NP2200 and the NP1200. They share many of the same features including a 1024 x 768 resolution, 600:1 contrast ratio, optional lenses, closed captioning, and 5-watt speakers. The things can throw an image up to 500-inches. That's what I am talking about.

The two differ in brightness with the NP2200 boasting 4200 ANSI lumens and the NP1200 offering 3700 lumens. Both also have an ECO Mode that uses only 0.4W at idle. The NP2200 sells for $2399 and the NP1200 sells for $1999. Those prices are presumably with no lens.
