NXP has announced its new PNX5130 single-chip solution for 3DTV, FRC, and local dimming. The chip is billed as a cheap coprocessor that will enable cost effective post processing of 3D effects on TVs in the living room.
The chip supports spatial 3D, temporal 3D, and 3D with depth formats. It also supports two types of 3D technology including frame interleave and line interleave. The former uses active glasses and the latter uses passive glasses.
