Vodafone to stop stocking HTC HD2

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Dec 14, 2009 4:42 pm

If you are a Vodafone customer in the UK who was hoping to get the HTC HD2 for Christmas this year, you are out of luck. The carrier has announced that it has depleted its stock and will no longer stock the handset for general customers.

A company source said that the handset was suffering from software glitches and Vodafone wants to be sure that customers have a good experience on its network. Presumably, the handset will still be sold to other than general customers.

Vodafone will continue to sell other HTC handsets. Other carriers like O2 and T-Mobile are still offering the HD2 to customers. Considering that there has been no mention of software issues from other carriers, we have to wonder if this is a move to clear the way for the iPhone to hit Vodafone in 2010.
