GeForce4 has hit with a bang!

By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: Feb 7, 2002 2:28 am

From a reliable source down here in Australia, I have been handed some information which outlines specifications and information for LeadTek's latest graphics card based on the new nVidia GeForce4 GPU announced only just today by nVidia in the Unites States, pity I couldn't be there, one of the disadvantages of living in Australia being isolated from the rest of the world.

The WinFast A250 Ultra will use the GeForce4 Ti4600 GPU with a stunning 128mb of the "world's fastest DDR memory". Unfortunately we don't have a GeForce4 for testing just yet, so I can't really explain what each of the following features is actually capable, I can only mention the specs they were given to me. The GPU also allows for what is known as nFiniteFX II Engine for programmability, Accuview Antialiasing, nView Display Technology (we have started seeing this feature in Windows in the latest Detonator 3 drivers, a nice feature indeed), Lightspeed Memory Architecture II, a default core clock and memory clock of 300MHz and 330MHz respectively - This translates to 1.23 trillion operating / sec and an unheard of 10.4gb / sec memory bandwidth - This means we'll be able to run at 1600x or higher without sacrificing too many FPS. If this GPU anything like it's brothers, it will be overclockable, which means these already stunning figures will become faster, let me at it!

The GeForce4 looks to be pretty damn amazing on paper, this is just a taste of things to come in the future and what LeadTek are offering us for starters! The GeForce4 is here, strap yourself in for the extensive amount of reviews will have posted in the next news update for you.

UPDATE - My source kindly sent me some photos of the new LeadTek A250 GeForce4 Ti4600, as we spoke briefly about above. I'll let the pictures do the talking, as usual LeadTek have came up with the big guns in the cooling department - Not one, but two cooling fans and a whopping heatsink! Anyone thinking 3DFX VooDoo here... :)
