Samsung might bring transparent AMOLED screen notebooks to market

By: (more) | Laptops News | Posted: Feb 5, 2010 3:43 pm

I have seen a few devices on the market with screens you can see through. I don't think I would like being able to see what's on the other side of my notebook through the screen. It would be distracting to me for sure.

Samsung showed off a notebook concept a while back that has a screen you could see through that used AMOLED tech. Apparently the machine was well received because Samsung is rumored to be getting the notebook ready to launch in the next 12 months with the clear screen and all.

It appears that Samsung sees a big market for see through screens and is moving to be a big player in the market. The transparent screen really seems like a gimmick to me on a notebook. I can see something like a GPS device for cars that you can see through that can be mounted to the windshield, which Samsung is said to be considering.
