GIGABYTEs M1405 tips up in Taipei

By: (more) | Laptops News | Posted: Feb 8, 2010 5:48 pm

Many enthusiasts will think more of mainboards and other hardware when they hear the GIGABYTE name rather than notebooks and netbooks. GIGABYTE does make some nice netbooks and notebooks, and we have played with some of its gear here at TweakTown before.

A new notebook from GIGABYTE has turned up in Taipei at the Taipei Game Show. The machine is the M1405 and it sports a 14-inch LCD. The machine is said to look much like the M1305 already on the market. The M1405 runs an Intel CULV SU7300 CPU and uses Windows 7.

Other features include up to 4GB of RAM, 500GB of storage, and a built-in DVD drive. Graphics for the machine include the Intel GMA 4500HD and NVIDIA GT 220 graphics. It's not clear if the GT220 is an optional GPU or if the machine has switchable graphics. The notebook has a 3-cell 2550mAh Li-poly battery in a secondary bay and a 6-cell li-poly 3600mAh battery in the main bay.
