Corsair is readying up its second Obsidian chassis (700D)

By: (more) | Cases, Cooling & PSU News | Posted: Feb 18, 2010 5:25 am

The german folks over at Hardwareluxx have acquired details from Corsair on its second Obsidian series chassis in the 700D.

This full tower case runs measurements of 609 (H) x 609 (L) x 229 (W) mm which uses a combination of steel for the case itself and an aluminum faceplate. Looking over its feature-set, it gives room for up to five 5.25" devices and six 3.5-inch/2.5-inch HDD trays.

For optical drives and the like, the chassis gives tool free installation. The I/O panel gives two audio, one FireWire and four USB 2.0 ports. The cooling system comprises three 140mm fans; one positioned at the front, one at the rear and one up top. The 700D also has a removable CPU backplate.

Availability and pricing isn't yet known, but it's inevitable we'll hear and see more on the 700D come CeBIT.
