There has been a lot of talk about smartbooks, which are basically a larger smartphones running the same sort of hardware your smartphone uses. The machines are not popular yet, but ABI Research thinks that the smartbook market will be huge by 2015.

The research firm issued the results of a new study this week that predict by 2015 the smartbook market will ship 163 million machines each year. Two of the big firms pushing the smartbook market are Qualcomm and Freescale.

I am sure we will see lots of smartbooks with ARM processors inside as well. Other players in the market are expected to be TI and NVIDIA with its Tegra line. Smartbooks have a long way to go before they catch on in the market considering there are only a few like the Mobinnova Beam pictured here on the market today.
