Pentax offers new rugged Optio W90 digital camera
Digital cameras for the most part are fragile devices that are dead if dropped once or if they get wet. There are some rugged cameras out there made to survive drops and water though like the new Pentax Optio W90 that debuted today.
The new cam has a 12.1MP sensor and a 5x optical zoom lens. The camera is waterproof to 20 feet and can shoot underwater pics. The W90 can also survive drops from four feet and can operate in freezing temperatures.
The lens has a microscope mode that lets it focus on items only 1cm away. The rear screen is 2.7-inches and the camera can record 720p HD video. It will ship in April for $329.95 along with an optional waterproof remote for all Optio models selling for $29.95.
