TRENDnet TEW-691GR wireless router hits 450Mbps

By: (more) | Networking News | Posted: Mar 5, 2010 4:07 pm

I just mentioned that TRENDnet has unveiled a couple new powerline networking offerings. If a WiFi network will work for your needs, but you want more than the 300Mbps most 802.11n routers can muster, TRENDnet has a new wireless router for you.

The TEW-691GR router uses the 2.4GHz spectrum and can operate three spatial streams per antenna to reach 450Mbps transfer speeds for data. That extra speed will be welcome if you stream lots of HD video or large files around your wireless network.

The router also has several security features and supports WPS push button setup. MIMO technology is used to improve wireless range. The router will ship in May for $159.99.
