Asus Eee 1005PR gets Broadcom HD decoder
Asus is always adding new machines to its Eee netbook line. I am not always sure we need new models since many of them have little to set them apart from other machines in the line already. Asus has unveiled a new netbook today called the Eee 1005PR.

The machine uses the Broadcom BCM 70015 HD decoder to handle the acceleration of HD video on the 10.1-inch LED backlit 1366 x 768 screen. The machine has 2GB of RAM and a 250GB HDD. Asus also offers an additional 500GB of online storage.
The CPU is an Intel Atom N450 and the netbook has a wimpy 0.3MP webcam. Connectivity options include VGA out, three USB 2.0 ports, RJ45, and a memory card reader. The 6-cell 63Wh optional battery claims 11 hours of runtime and the standard 6-cell 48Wh battery claims 9 hours of use per charge.
