Kanguru unveils hardware encryption Defender Elite flash drive

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Mar 11, 2010 4:13 pm

Keeping private or confidential data safe on a flash drive can be a challenge, especially when you consider how easy the things are to lose. The DOD banned flash drives in its operations a while back and has only recently relaxed that ban with specific stipulations.

Kanguru has announced its latest flash drive called the Defender Elite that it specifically built and designed to meet the DOD needs for flash drives. The Defender Elite is FIPS 140-2 certified and meets both HIPAA and Sarbanes Oxley standards.

The drive uses hardware encryption with 256-bit AES encryption to secure data on the drive. Other features include limited password attempts, master password support, restricted IP range, and a tamper resistant design. The flash drive also has integrated anti-virus and malware protection.
