ASUS O!Play HD2 USB 3.0 media player gets video hands-on

By: (more) | Connectivity & Communications News | Posted: Mar 16, 2010 12:36 pm

During CeBIT in Germany earlier this month, a YouTube user by the name of Charbax visited the ASUS booth and got a video hands-on with the upcoming ASUS O!Play HD2 USB 3.0 HD media player. It is due to go on sale this summer, or winter if you are from the southern part of the world.

The HD2 is the third generation media player from ASUS and continues to use the same Realtek chipset solution, however with a few refinements added to the player. First and probably most notably is the addition of the USB 3.0 interface for super fast transfers between the player itself and your PC. Also added an eSATA port and the actual appearance of the player has also been changed and looks rather nice with a modern and stylish finish.

We've already been in contact with ASUS here in Taiwan about getting a sample and when they are ready, we'll have one in for a full video review.
