CyberPower gets on the Core i7 Gulftown system bandwagon, too

By: (more) | Computer Systems News | Posted: Mar 16, 2010 2:03 pm

We reviewed Intel's new monster 6-core, 12 threads Core i7-980X 'Gulftown' processor last week and without much surprise found it to totally kick ass in multi-threaded applications and games. Deanzo even impressed us all even more by taking the same processor and overclocking it damn near close to 6GHz on liquid nitrogen.

Word has just arrived from the folks over at CyberPower that three of its top gaming systems, the Black Pearl, Gamer Xtreme 3D and Fang Series Black Mamba will all be getting the 6-core Intel treatment with X58 based motherboards.

The new gaming systems should be shipping within a week or so when Intel finally begin letting the new processors out onto the market. For more details, head on over here and read the press announcement which was just released.
