Amazon Kindle for Mac software now available

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Mar 18, 2010 5:00 pm

I like to read when I have time and I can find a decent book. Most of the best sellers aren't things I like though. I prefer sci-fi or action books, which don't often land on the best sellers list. I was interested in the Kindle when it launched and Amazon now has apps for the iPhone and Mac computer that let you read on those devices.

The iPhone app has been around for a while, but Kindle for Mac has just launched. Amazon reports that the software is available for download now in over 100 countries around the world. The app uses Amazon's Whispersync technology to save and sync bookmarks and last page read across multiple devices.

That means the user can read the same book on the Mac, iPhone, or Kindle without losing their place. The software also lets users read notes made on different devices and offers ten different font sizes. Kindle for Mac is a free download.
