Not too many surprises in store for Windows 7 SP1
During Microsoft's Desktop Virtualization Hour which was held yesterday, company officials discussed what consumers can expect from Service Pack 1 for Windows 7.
Many may have expected a long list of new features and updates in SP1, but over at the Windows Blog, Brandon LeBlanc announced to the world that there will only be "minor updates". He goes on to say that so-called industry experts have already proclaimed Windows 7 ready for commercial deployment and that there is no need to wait for SP1. I would personally agree with those statements, even when Windows 7 was not final and I was using early beta builds and release candidates, it was rather solid.
So, as for SP1, you will get all of the latest updates and ones delivered in the past over Windows Update. As for new features, so far we only have word of a new and improved Remote Desktop that makes use of RemoteFX, which was introduced in the server-side with SP1 for Windows Server 2008 R2.
