VIA VX900 chipset provides solid 1080p HD playback
Even though Sascha from Netbook News was able to get the scoop on the product yesterday, VIA has today only officially taken the wraps off its VX900 Media System Processor.
The VX900 is the latest single-chip solution from VIA that is designed to be coupled with the VIA Nano-3000 series of processors for netbooks and other related mobile devices. This new chip includes the new ChromotionHD 2.0 video processor that has VC1 and H.264 codec hardware acceleration to reduce heavy loading from the CPU.
Above is the video that Sascha from Netbook News produced showcasing the power of the VX900 when it comes to 1080p HD playback. Now we just need some folks to stand up to Intel and produce some netbooks based on its and the Nano CPU.
Now, which netbook making company is going to step up to the plate?!
