Windows 7 above 10% usage share for March'10 according to Net Applications

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Apr 2, 2010 1:12 pm

As a result of gathering data from around 160 million people connected to the web, Net Applications has shared details of Windows 7's usage share in March which has just reached double digits at about 10.23%.

This is testament to the rapid growth and adoption of this fine OS and shows it gaining well since February where it had a usage share of 8.92%. The biggest shift seems to be from XP users to this OS; indicative that a growing number of XP users feel comfort in the transition to 7 vs Vista where it was more reknowned for its faults and dislikes.

Comparatively, Windows Vista sat at about 16.51% in Feb, where March showed it to be at 16.01%; whilst Windows XP of course remains the most widely used one at 64.46%, though down over a full percent from its February share at 65.49%.
