Prive phone is both crazy ugly and expensive

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Apr 7, 2010 7:14 pm

Back in the early days of handheld cell phones in the late 80's my dad had one of those giant beige brick phones. The best thing about that phone is that the thing is now obsolete.

A company called Stuart Hughes is betting that rich geeks will have a retro hankering for the giant phones of yore made more so by coating the thing in 22ct gold and 76 flawless diamonds amounting to 23ct. The Prive is ugly as those phones from the 80's, only shinier.

The handset sports a color LCD, text SMs capability, and WAP capability. The thing has a price tag of £139,995.00 and will be limited to ten units made. If they sell one, I will be surprised.
