iPad setup as $500+ MIDI controller for Ableton Live 8

I have seen everything from a Bluetooth game of scrabble to a digital photo frame (the most expensive one I have ever seen) but this one takes the cake.
Someone took the time and effort to turn their iPad into a MIDI controller for Ableton. I am not sure why you would pay $500+ just to use an iPad for this when you can do it much easier with other Apps and also with the controls on the Mac itself. Still some people just need to be different. Check out the video which shows the tools used and how well they work.
