German based mob Wortmann has just unveiled its latest Terra Mobile 1430 laptop which is designed for primary use in outdoor enviroments.
Wortmann has given this model a ruggedized magnesium alloy casing to protect the unit in more challenging conditions outdoors (and from heavy hands). It would make sense for a tradesman to carry around a notebook like this. Further to the protecting outer casing, the keyboard is also spill-resistant, as is the touch pad.
Running over the rest of the specs and features, it uses a 14-inch non-glare LCD with a native resolution of 1280x800 and nestled inside is a Core 2 Duo T6750 (2.1GHz) processor, 3GB RAM, GMA X4500 IGP, 320GB HDD, DVD Writer, 1.3MP webcam, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, fingerprint reader and the option of 3G and GPS support.
The laptop weighs in at 2.5Kg and comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional (with a WinXP downgrade also being available) and can be purchased at a starting price of 1,339 Euros.
