ASUS' EeeKeyboard FINALLY shipping?!

By: (more) | Peripherals News | Posted: Apr 12, 2010 6:06 am

With continuous promises followed by further setbacks on the launch of ASUS' Eee Keyboard, it's easy for many of us to begin thinking it'll never end up seeing light of day.

However, ASUS maintains it's coming and says they're definitely now on the home straight in bringing it to the masses. Apparently it will begin shipping through U.S. channels by the end of this month.

Looking back over all we've heard and seen in previous reports, the EeeKeyboard is a compact Atom powered platform packed inside a keyboard. It sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen running a resolution of 800x480 and uses an Atom 1.6GHz processor together with 1GB RAM, choice of 16 or 32GB SSD and GMA 950 integratedf graphics.

Connectivity wise, you get Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, D-Sub and HDMI outputs, a few USB ports and an external Ultra-Wideband antenna. The unit is said to begin selling at between 5 and 600 dollars U.S.

Thanks to the folks at Techconnect for the heads up on the latest news. Let's hope it sticks this time, ASUS.
