NVIDIA provides Apple with its own IGP for MacBook Pro 13-inch

By: (more) | Laptops News | Posted: Apr 16, 2010 10:06 am

NVIDIA has been reported to give Apple some special lovin' with a designated IGP for the company's new MacBook Pro 13-inch dubbed the 320M.

AppleInsider was informed by NVIDIA themselves that the 320M IGP is especially for Apple in replacement of the much less capable 9400M, giving up to 80% performance boosts in some older game titles whilst being more efficient on the power front, too.

Looking closer at the specs of the chip, it's said to be based on the GT216 core with 48 Shader cores on tap. A spec sheet shows it uses 256MB memory, but it is not given dedicated memory and is shared with the main system memory.
