Pa. School had 1000's of images of students taken via webcam

By: (more) | Cameras News | Posted: Apr 19, 2010 7:02 pm

Back in February, I mentioned that a school district in PA had been accused of taking images of students using webcams on school provided notebooks without the student knowing. Reports are now coming in that the spying issue may be much more widespread.

The student who filed suit against the district, Blake Robbins, and his attorney has announced that the school had 400 images of Robbins alone. District school board president David Ebby has stated that a "substantial number" of photos of students have been recovered.

Robbins' attorney claims that thousands of photos were taken and is seeking a court order to investigate the notebook of Carol Cafiero. Cafiero is the district technology coordinator.
