Some hands-on time with HP's Slate

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Apr 20, 2010 10:26 am

HP's Slate has been talked up a fair bit in recent times but was yet to be given a better look at with the only footage available being brief and showing very little of it up close.

Finally a website has gotten hold of one for a longer period of time, giving a full hands-on of the unit in the form of a mini review. However, the build-up of positives towards it gets quickly stamped down and it doesn't appear to be all it was cracked up to be after all.

Essentially it's just a touchscreen netbook and is said to be somewhat 'slow and annoying' as a result. The pictures of it also show it to be more chunky and less refined than anticipated.

Shame; earlier (carefully positioned) pictures and info had many of us thinking it was going to be worth holding out for, but perhaps not after all.
