Sierra Wireless AirCard 890 heading to AT&T

By: (more) | Networking News | Posted: Apr 21, 2010 3:06 pm

When it comes to getting a broadband modem for your notebook, if you don't want a USB version, you have PC Cards or Express Cards to choose from. The catch is that if you have more than one computer and each of them needs a different expansion card type you are out of luck.

AT&T has a new mobile broadband modem coming that is from Sierra Wireless called the AirCard 890. The device is set to land on May 5 and supports the faster AT&T HSPA 7.2 networks in place around the country.

The coolest feature of the 890 is that the device can be used in either PC Card or Express Card slots thanks to its design. The card will sell for $49.99 after a mail-in rebate and new agreement. The card costs $149.99 up front.
