Toshiba working on world's lightest 13-inch notebook

By: (more) | Laptops News | Posted: May 7, 2010 3:04 pm

Toshiba has been in the notebook PC market for a long time with some decent offerings. A new rumor is going around today that the company is working on the world's lightest 13-inch notebook and is packing it with some sweet battery tech.

The machine is said to have Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 CPU options, a 512GB HDD or 512GB SSD, and more. Rumors peg the machine at a scant 1Kg with the SSD. The machine is also said to have a USB 3.0 docking station and a 16:9 aspect ratio screen.

The coolest part of the rumor is that the machine is said to use a SCiB battery. This battery claims to recharge to 90% full capacity in only 10 minutes. That would be awesome in a notebook.
