It's been discovered that Intel has made a modification to the stock cooling solution it is shipping with its top dog Core i7-980X processors.
The new cooler is said to be superior in both performance and noise levels to the original version. This was achieved by making some minor adjustments to the impeller, downsizing the edge of the blades to just 0.3mm and perforating the hub that is connected to the motor in the centre.
It's expected that Core i7-980X's with this new cooling design will begin shipping from June 7.
