One of the ways that our devices can get smaller and smaller is by having smaller components available. while we want smaller devices, we also want higher quality components and cameras as well.

A company called OmniVision has unveiled what it claims to be the world's smallest 1080p HD camera solution known as the OV2720. The camera is the world's first 1/6-inhc native 1080p 30 fps HD CMOS image sensor designed for netbooks, notebooks, and webcams.

The device doesn't scale or crop video shot in 1080p resolution and uses 1.4-micron OmniBSI pixel for low light sensitivity. The sensor has a z-height of only 3.5mm.
