One of the few places that Android has lagged behind the rest of the smartphone pack is support for an app for Amazon Kindle. This is going to change later this summer when Kindle for Android, a free app that gives access to over 540,000 books in the Kindle Store. As with the Kindle app on other devices like the Blackberry, iPad, and PC this free app will incorporate Whipsersync technology which allows you to access your ebooks across any device you have that supports Kindle as well as saving your last read page, changing font sizes, and other features.

This opens up yet another huge door for the Android market as Kindle is shown as the number one most wished for, gifted, and bestselling product on Amazon.com. Jay Marine, the director of Amazon Kindle, stated in the press release: "We think customers are going to love the convenience and simplicity of having instant access to a massive selection of books from Amazon on their Droid, Nexus, Incredible and many more Android devices."
