WebOS headed to internet capable printers

By: (more) | Printers & Scanners News | Posted: May 19, 2010 6:06 pm

HP recently purchased Palm and got its hands on the only good thing Palm had left - WebOS. Most of us figured that WebOS would turn up on tablet computers and maybe HP smartphones, but the OS is also coming to some devices you might not have considered.

One of the devices I didn't think about seeing WebOS on are printers. HP has said that WebOS will be coming to web-connected printers. The OS will be used on printers that let users do things like print tickets directly from Fandango or pictures from Snapfish.

I really don't see this sort of printer taking off. Most of us will be very close to our computers when we are using a printer and it is easier to find the information on your computer than on a printer's small screen.
