Acer rolls out Android and Windows Mobile based smartphones

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: May 19, 2010 10:58 pm

Acer made a splash at the Digital Consumer Channel event in the United Arab Emirates by showing off six Android and Windows Mobile based smartphones that are slated for release soon. Acer reps were said to be very excited about these releases, slated to be fully done by October.

These devices cover the entire price spectrum, half below the $250 USD mark. One of the Android based phones had a very Blackberry feel with a candybar design with a full keyboard, although some will not be impressed with the power of the 450mhz CPU. One of the higher priced phones feature Liquid technology and the full Android OS, which is leading into Liquid 2 hopefully being out by the end of this year.

The Windows Mobile phones still focus on Mobile 6.5.x but the Acer rep said they are fully ready to implement Windows 7 Mobile when it is released for phones of all price ranges.
