MSI unveils i-Charger utility for iPad/iPhone/iPod charging

By: (more) | Motherboards News | Posted: May 26, 2010 4:04 pm

The number of Apple gadgets like iPods, iPads, and iPhones that are in the hands of consumers today is massive. Many of these devices are connected to computers for charging and MSI has announced a new application that makes charging the devices more efficient.

The application is called i-Charger and it is compatible with any computer using a MSI mainboard. The app lets the machine provide fast and safe USB charging for the gadgets.

The problem with charging the iPad is that many computers only offer 0.5A current and the iPad needs 1.2A. The i-Charger app would sense when the iPad is plugged in and will revise the power profile of the USB port to provide the needed power for the iPad to charge.
