Acer announces the LumiRead e-reader

Acer, through a distribution agreement with Barnes and Noble, has officially announced their first e-reader device which they are calling the LumiRead. This device will feature a 6 inch E-Ink display, WiFi and 3G connectivity, and 2GB of onboard sorage which is expandable via a microSD slot. The LumiRead also boasts an ISBN scanner that will allow you to scan a physical book for later research and possible purchase online.

 

The distribution agreement not only covers Barnes and Noble and their over 1 million titles, but also China's Founder and Germany's Libri.de, adding another 4 million titles ensuring a huge selection of possible reading material upon release. A full QUERTY keyboard is also included for easier web browsing and information sharing via the wireless connectivity.
