Are you eligible to upgrade to iPhone 4?

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jun 9, 2010 1:20 am

We know all of those on AT&T are itching to get their hands on the new iPhone 4, launching June 24th in US, France, Germany, the UK, and Japan. But do you know how long you have left on your contract? With the extended 6 month window being allowed for the launch price of the iPhone 4 ($199 for the 16gb version), I'll bet a lot of you are dreading waiting on hold for 20 minutes or more to talk to customer service to ask this simple question.

Fear not! The folks at AT&T have made this process painless. IF you've got your current AT&T phone handy, dial *639# and hit call. Give it a minute or two, then you'll receive a text within 5 minutes telling you if you're upgrade eligible. AT&T's Customer Support Center on their site also has "Check Upgrade Options" available under "Quick Links" for those who are reading this now and want to open another tab to check.
