Lite-On shipping fastest Blu-ray writer to Euro market
Comment | Print | Email to a Friend | Font Size: AAEurope will soon be getting Lite-On's iHBS212 internal Blu-Ray writer which can burn to BD-R discs at the fastest possible rate to date; 12x speed.
The new drive uses the SATA interface along with an 8MB buffer, as well as featuring LightScribe technology for use with supporting discs.
In terms of maximum write speeds across the board, we have 12x for BD-R SL, 8x for BD-R DL, 2x for BD-RE, 16x for DVD-R/+R, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL & DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW.
Lite-On also bundles the drive with CyberLink's BD Suite. The drive is set to become available in Europe by the end of this month at an MSRP of €165.
