Ubuntu for tablets? Canonical is on it

Apple fans have the iPad; Android and Windows 7 fans have a ton of tablets coming down the pipe, but what about the open-source Linux fans? The folks at Canonical are working to sate your thirst for this open source OS with a tablet version of Ubuntu. Canonical has every intention of having ablets shipped with this OS, not just having it available for post-purchase installation.
"The devices world is a really exciting space right now and we're really bullish on it," said Canonical's vice president of OEM services Chris Kenyon.
Kenyon stated that the Ubuntu tablet OS would be a slimmed down version of 10.10 with a touch-friendly and simple interface. They are currently working with tablet makers to make it more power effecien and faster running, and hope to see it on tablets in early 2011.
