Flash will be on 250 million smartphones by 2012, according to Adobe

Considering the fact that there is not a fully Flash 10.1 capable smartphone out there yet, Adobe had some strong words today: boasting a quarter billion smartphones will be fully Flash capable by the end of 2012. Android 2.2 is supposed to handle this issue for many smartphones on that front, and if Blackberry, Windows Phone 7, and others follow suit this may not be a completely unbelievable figure with the boom of smartphone usage all over the world. The 250 million smartphone figure is supposed to cover 53% of total sartphones in service, which is an impressive estimate in itself saying there will be a half billion smartphones in use across the globe in a mere year and a half.

Then again, imagine how much larger that figure would be if the iPhone and Flash would play nicely together…...
