Evo 4G screen: As scratch resistant as it says?

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jun 12, 2010 2:39 pm

It's usually a lot more fun to watch others put expensive items through torture tests instead of doing it to stuff you threw down your own hard earned cash for, so here's a shot and some video of an EVO 4G screen taking some abuse to see how scratch resistant the screen really is.

A member of Android Forums was unlucky enough to receive a defective device, so before it got shipped back to Sprint he decided to put the screen to the test, having it do battle with things like screws, pennies, and a razor blade to see if having the phone knocking around in your pocket would do any serious damage. According to the video, the EVO 4G held up well to the abuse, but of course we still recommend being careful with your precious phone as the camera lens didn't prove quite as durable as the screen did.

Here's the video of the damage being caused:

And the aftermath in better light; still looks nice to me!
