iPhone 4 launch day preorders sold out

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jun 16, 2010 7:24 pm

Since iPhone preordering started yesterday online, the Apple and AT&T sites have had a ton of problems keeping up with the traffic generated by Apple fans surging to get their hands on the iPhone 4. Well, it seems that enough people got through to completely sell out the units set aside for preorder delivery on the June 24th launch date. Both the 16GB and 32GB versions are showing a new "ship by July 2nd" date on their sites.

As amazing as it is that the preorders could sell out in less than a day, this may mean even longer lines and larger crowds camping out in front of stores on launch morning to get their hands on the iPhone 4, since that now seems like the only way to grab one on launch day unless you got your preorder in. So pack up your tents and sleeping bags guys and gals, it's gonna be a long night.
