Amazon Kindle takes serious price drop to $189

With the announcement of the $149 WiFi only Nook and a price cut of the original to $199 coming from Barnes and Noble, it looks like Amazon has reacted quickly and swiftly in the ever growing price war between the two big boys in the e-reader market. Amazon's Kindle is now selling for $189 on their website, a serious $70 drop from the $259 original price.
Amazon has not officially said what spurred the over 25% price drop, but looking at the competition there is little doubt that the Nook is most likely the biggest reason. Anyone that has been considering an e-reader device has to be loving this announcement today which makes the two full-featured devices to a price that a lot more consumers will be able to handle.
