Toshiba's new Dual-Touchscreen Tablet PC unveiled

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jun 23, 2010 12:59 am

Toshiba has jumped into the tablet fray by announcing the Libretto W100, a "next gen ultra mobile concept PC." This tablet, released to honor Toshiba's 25th year in the laptop business, will be a limited edition item that offers a full version of Windows 7 and dual 7 inch 1024x600 displays.

Other specs include a 1.2GHz Intel Pentium U5400 processor, 2GB of DDR3 memory, 62GB SSD. The tablet will have 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity and Bluetooth 2.1. It weighs a light 1.8 pounds and measures 7.95 x 4.84 x 1.2 inches when closed. With six virtual keyboard alignments with haptic technology for sensory feedback, it should be easy to find a comfortable typing position.

The Libretto was also the name of a line of ultra-portable subnotebooks from Toshiba in the mid-90s and the name was resurrected to take people back to the earlier days of Toshiba. Toshiba hopes to have the Libretto available by the end of the summer.
