Blockbuster Video to go bye-bye by 2011?

By: (more) | HT & Movies News | Posted: Jul 12, 2010 3:06 pm

I can remember years and years back when Blockbuster was the most popular place for many people to go for renting video games and movies. Over the years, many people changed from going to Blockbuster for movies to things like Netflix and Redbox kiosks.

As the desires of the consumer changed, Blockbuster started to slip ultimately leading many of the chains retail stores to close up. Today Blockbuster is facing the very real proposition of going under completely. The chain is also said to be lookign at Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Analyst Douglas A. McIntyre from 24/7 Wall St. claims that Blockbuster may go under as early as 2011. The company could carry on in a smaller scale with nothing left of its former glory but branded kiosks and streaming service.
