SkypeKit now available for Windows and OSX

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Jul 15, 2010 5:53 am

SkypeKit, a developer program rolled out in June for Linux users to integrate Skype video, voice, and text chat capabilities into other programs, has now come to OSX and Windows. This program has widely broadened the ability of developers to integrate these functions into third party programs where before only a small set of APIs were available that were designed specifically for accessories like webcams and headsets.

Skype is fired up about the program, calling SkypeKit "a headless version of Skype-that is, a Skype client with no user interface that runs invisibly, not only on PCs, but also TVs, notebooks, and other connected devices." SkypeKit is currently in beta and invitation only; drop by the Skype Developer Website to get a shot at getting your hands on it.
