BlackBerry Torch announced today by RIM

RIM's New York event today revolved around their newest handset: the BlackBerry 9800 "Torch." This mobile device boasts a slide out keyboard with the traditional BlackBerry feel, a 5 MP camera, and will be running the long-awaited BlackBerry 6 OS.

 

 

The new hybrid touchscreen device will have a 480x360 display, 4GB of onboard storage, wireless N capability, and 512mb of ROM and RAM. AT&T is releasing the device for the U.S. on August 11th for $199 (with contract), while Rogers, Bell and Telus in Canada have all confirmed they will get the Torch but have not released launch dates.
