Optus spruces up its mobile broadband plans - Lower pricing, higher data

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Aug 4, 2010 12:20 pm

While Telstra's playing a bit nicer these days with its mobile broadband rates, Optus also makes a move in giving significantly better value with a full range of revamped plans having just been put into place.

The new plans require signing onto 24-month contracts and start at $20 per month which gives you 1GB of on-peak quota and 2GB off-peak. There are also $30, $50, $80 and $100 plans, with the top most giving 10GB of on-peak quota and 20GB off-peak. Optus' peak time designation covers 7:00am through 12am.

If a user reaches their quota before the month is up, the internet will be inaccessible expect for select free Optus sites and Facebook, though they are given the option to buy a new data pack to use until the next month kicks in.

While it's fairly well known Optus' mobile broadband network isn't all that crash hot performance wise, Optus continue to answer with promises that their network is continually being upgraded and better performance and coverage is a key point of focus for the company.
