COD: Black Ops Prestige Edition is epic

By: (more) | Gaming News | Posted: Aug 13, 2010 2:31 pm

Activision is pulling out all the stops when it comes to the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise. The game publisher has already announced that it is investing more in the launch of Black Ops than it has ever invested in a game. Naturally COD: Black Ops will get the obligatory collectors editions for gamers to buy.

Typically, the collector's editions come with some stuff that is cool, but that stuff doesn't compel most of us to grab the special version of the game up. Things like free DLC, art books, and metal game tins don't really grab my attention. When you start throwing in sweet remote control cars though, my interest is piqued.

Activision is putting a real working replica of the remote control surveillance vehicle from the game into the Prestige edition. The RC car has a 200-foot range and a working camera that can send audio and color video to the operator. That video is viewable on a small LCD built into the remote control of the car. The Prestige edition also has the game, a medal, and the obligatory DLC content. Pricing is unknown on the Prestige version at this time.
